It's the same line we hear every single year. Maybe it's the same quote, or image you share on Instagram, complete with a lion roaring and waves crashing in the background. But is it ever really? January 1st (or maybe January 2nd - if you enjoyed December 31st a little too much!) always feels like some kind of mythical day, where anything is possible. A blank slate, a new start, 365 days to make your mark on the world.
Maybe the 'new you' is thinking about a career change, or a new job? Research by CNBC states that the most popular day of the year to look for a new job is the first Wednesday after Christmas, when workers have begun to settle back in after the fun of Christmas and realise (probably amidst the gloom of January detox's and 'dry January's') that they need a new challenge. But maybe you have been in the same job or industry for a while, and aren't sure how to make that move? You can visualise that shiny bright 'new you' thriving in a new work environment, enjoying your next 365 blank pages - but the job market moves so quickly, it's like a never ending carousel of recruiters, CV's, interviews and social media - and you just can't figure out how to get on.
Maybe some support could be just what you need?
